Mrs Fox reads The ANZAC Biscuit Man

I have a copy of The ANZAC Biscuit Man, signed by the author Peter Millet.  As today is ANZAC Day, I thought I would read this fun book for you all.  It is based on an old tale we all know so well.  How long will it take you to work out the old tale? Happy ANZAC Biscuit eating...

Enjoy!

Mrs Fox's Pepeha

Learn Create Shares today in our school was focused on Te Reo Maori and some students could create their own pepeha.  I had to create this one for one of my university papers using an app.  I am sharing it all with you.  Can you work out which word tells you where Mrs Fox was born/from?  What is the English version of this word?

Footpath Art

My favourite kind of exercise is playing Hockey but I can’t do that at the moment 😢. My second favourite is walking. I usually try to walk in the morning before school. Lately I have been going in the afternoon. I have noticed something different on these walks. There are lots of bears in windows which are cool to see but I have also noticed something on the footpaths... chalk! There is one house not too far from me who has someone drawing some really cool pictures. Here are a few.

Which one is your favourite?

I also have a friend who has shared some photos of what she has drawn with her kids. A sensory walk. This looks like lots of fun. I wonder if any of you have done any cool footpath art? Or seen any when you have been out walking or bike riding?

Cool Learning Links

Hi all, I have made a slide of some cool links that I have found in lockdown. Some of them are for book authors. There are some other websites that I love too. I hope that you enjoy them as much as I do. Let me know if you have found some other cool websites and I can maybe add them too. Who is your favourite author? Maybe they have a cool website too.

Attention Jigsaw Puzzlers

Hi all

Throughout the year, Mrs Thompson puts up the jigsaw puzzle table.  I remember last year we were working on some puzzles from Roald Dahl.  I remember looking for shapes, colours and writing on those pieces and competing against some of you to make a part of the puzzle.

Well, if you don't know, Mrs Thompson is the Queen of Puzzles in her house.  She not only reads LOADS of books, but she completes puzzles in her spare time.

You might be thinking that is easy, but she is not doing 100 piece puzzles like I did on the holidays with my son but we are talking large thousands and thousands of pieces.

How many did you complete over the holidays?  Do you have some photos to share?

Here is Mrs Thompson's latest creation 6000 pieces. I think she deserves a token for:

Happy Puzzling!

Mrs Thompson on the Holidays...

Over the holidays I did do some fun things including lots of reading.  Here they are...

Which one is your favourite? Have you made any of these before? Did you do any jobs to help over the holidays?

Welcome to Term 2 2020

Hi all,

What an interesting start to Term 2!

Because of COVID-19 lockdown we are all learning from home. Even I am learning, learning about blogging.   I am hoping you can all help me make this blog amazing!

Luckily I did learn a little bit from Mrs Cameron when I was working in Room 1 last year. But I’m sure I will still need a bit of help 😊.

Over the holidays I have read 11 books. My favourite books that I have read was the Twilight series.
I have read them before but my kids wanted to read them so we borrowed them from the town library. It was tricky sharing a book sometimes!

How many books have you read over the holidays?
Which one was your favourite?

Look forward to keeping in touch with you through our new Library Blog and giving you some great resources to support your learning.  We can do this together.
